The Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA) will support a food-secure future within the region by educating a new generation of farmers and agricultural leaders. The Landscape Architect curated an exhibition of the project for the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s Triennial: NATURE. The story of RICA’s design is told through a series of time-lapse diagrams, renderings, info-graphics, photography, video, and animations. The introductory graphics highlight parallels between biodiversity loss and land-use conversion, foreshadowing the argument for conservation agriculture. Later the video illustrates how the campus masterplan’s organization, material selections, infrastructure, and construction process align to the One Health narrative.
